Where to Trade s&box Items: Steam, Dupe and Sbox Bazaar
The three marketplaces that handle s&box items compared on fees, payment, delivery and real listing depth, plus when each one is worth using.
If you trade CS2 or Rust skins, you're used to choosing between a dozen marketplaces. s&box has three. sboxskin.gg tracks the Steam Community Market, Dupe and Sbox Bazaar. The other large skin marketplaces its builder checked didn't support s&box as of mid-October 2026. Even among the three, the difference in size is huge. Here's what each one offers and when it's worth using.
The short version
| Steam Market | Dupe | Sbox Bazaar | |

Fees and payment methods come from sboxskin.gg's marketplace profiles. The listing counts are live snapshots.
On a $10.00 sale, a Steam seller receives about $8.70 in Wallet funds. On Dupe, the seller receives $9.85 in USDC. On Sbox Bazaar, $9.70. The fee gap is real. Whether you can use it depends on whether anyone is buying on those sites.
Steam Community Market
The Steam Market is where s&box trades. Every tradable item can be listed there. It has a full order book with buy orders and price history, and purchases arrive instantly with Valve handling the transaction.
The downsides are the familiar ones. The fee is 15% and money stays in your Steam Wallet. Trade Protection also applies: since Facepunch's May 20, 2026 update, items received in a trade can't be traded on for seven days, and the trade can be reversed during that time.
Use it for: almost everything, and especially cheap items, where third-party sites have no listings at all.
Dupe
Dupe is a peer-to-peer marketplace with an s&box section alongside CS2. Its own help text describes the flow:
- Buyers pay in USDC, and the seller delivers the item through a normal Steam trade.
- For regular peer-to-peer trades the seller has 18 hours to send the item. If the seller hasn't accepted the purchase an hour after it was placed, the buyer can ask for a refund.
- The seller's payment settles only after the Steam Trade Protection period ends. That protects buyers against a seller reversing the trade.
What's actually there
As of October 14, 2026, Dupe had 79 s&box listings across 11 items, more than half of them for just two items (29 Tactical Backpacks and 24 SWAG Chains). It's not uniformly cheaper. Five of the 11 were listed below the Steam ask, including a Cardboard King at $72.00 against $85.00 on Steam and a SWAG Chain at $1.39 against $1.98. The other six were priced above Steam, such as the Tactical Backpack at $2.80 against $1.41.
Dupe's buy offers are more interesting. Buyers had posted offers on 65 items for 1,056 units in total. For a few items those offers beat Steam's best bid. The Santa 2024 Hat had Dupe offers at $28.75 against a $19.98 Steam buy order, and the Santa 2024 Jacket $29.95 against $18.51. For others Steam's bid was higher: the Cardboard King's best Steam buy order was $50.15 against Dupe's $35.70.
Use it for: selling a specific item into a strong buy offer, or buying one of the few items it lists below Steam. Check both sides every time.
Sbox Bazaar
Sbox Bazaar is the only marketplace built just for s&box. Sellers set their own price for a 3% fee. Buyers pay through a protected checkout, and the funds are released once the Steam trade is verified. Item pages show the Steam price next to each listing.
As of October 14, 2026, it had four listings, and their prices look more like placeholders than market offers. Three items were listed at exactly $1.00: the Telecom Conspiracist Helmet (Steam ask $6.40), the Frilly Bra (Steam $0.21) and the Love Heart Boxers (Steam $0.20). The fourth was a SWAG Chain at $9.00, against $1.98 on Steam. The helmet shows up as an 84%-off deal on sboxskin.gg's deals feed, but treat a listing like that as unconfirmed until you've seen that the seller can complete the trade.
Use it for: watching for now. It may grow, but there's nothing yet to trade against.
Safety on peer-to-peer sites
Steam's Market is a closed system: Valve takes the item and the money and swaps them. Off-Steam trades work differently, so a few rules matter:
- Only trade through the site's own flow. Accept trade offers that match what the site shows, and nothing else.
- Check the trade offer details. Confirm the item, the account and that you aren't being asked to give anything extra. Fake "verification" trades are a classic scam.
- Never hand over your Steam login or API key. No marketplace needs either to complete a trade. Sign in with Steam only on the real domain.
- Understand Trade Protection. Trades can be reversed for seven days. That's why reputable P2P sites hold the seller's payment until the protection period ends. Be wary of anyone who asks you to pay outside a platform that offers that protection.
- Remember the payout format. Dupe pays in USDC. Converting it to cash is your responsibility and may carry its own fees.
Picking the right venue
- Buying a cheap item: Steam. Nothing else has stock.
- Buying an expensive item: check Dupe's listings and the deals page first, then buy on Steam if nothing is cheaper.
- Selling an expensive item: compare Steam's highest buy order with Dupe's best offer after fees. The price comparison tool shows both side by side.
- Cashing out: only the third-party sites pay out in something other than Steam Wallet funds, and their depth is limited.
For now, s&box is a one-marketplace economy with two small alternatives. Steam sets the prices, Dupe occasionally beats it on a specific item, and Sbox Bazaar is waiting for its first real order book.
